Scania Oskarshamn is Kalmar County's largest private employer, and our production encompasses many different tasks within various business areas. We offer summer jobs in our workshops – Press, Body, Primer and Topcoat Painting, Assembly, as well as in logistics and material handling.

What does a summer job with us entail?

In the Press Workshop, you as a summer worker will handle various presses and package the sheet metal that will later be welded together in the Body Workshop, where you can work as a robot operator and with material supply to automated processes. In the Paint Shops, the cabins are primed and top-coated, and tasks here may include polishing, sanding, and inspection. In the Assembly Workshop, you will assemble the cabin's interior, components, and details. Within logistics and material handling, you ensure that materials are distributed to Assembly, and your tasks include packing materials and driving a forklift. Working hours are in two shifts, which means you alternate between working days one week and evenings the next. A few positions involve night shifts. Scania provides you with information and training for your work, including training and forklift certification for those who will need it. As a summer worker with us, you will receive a wellness allowance and access to the gym at our Health Center in addition to your salary. The factory is closed for 4 weeks in the middle of summer, and during that time, you will be off without pay.

We are looking for

At Scania, our team is our greatest driving force, and therefore we are looking for you who are a team player, communicative, and meticulous in your work. You are studying in high school, have applied for education at a college or university, or you are already a student at an institution of higher education. You find production and logistics exciting, and you are curious about how the business operates. Since we work in two shifts, it is required that you, as a summer worker with us, must be at least 18 years old. Before you start your summer job, a one-day introduction is required, which will take place sometime between May 14-17. That day is mandatory.
